Philanthropy – Summer 2026

Bill and Christney McGlashan have partnered with Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) since 2013, when TTCF was raising funds to purchase and renovate an old motel to house four critical-needs service organizations at what would become the Kings Beach Community House. To the McGlashans, this project demonstrated TTCF’s leadership and vision for a more effective and efficient way of working. That confidence is what led them to become early advisors and supporters of Forest Futures — staying in lockstep with the TTCF team throughout the initial learning journey of the Salon Series, and providing input to the design of the Forest Futures Impact Strategy.

When the Truckee Navigation Center pilot was launching in 2025, it represented one of the much-needed solutions to Tahoe-Truckee’s housing crisis. It was also aligned with TTCF’s Impact Portfolio strategy. TTCF reached out to the McGlashans to help the Center close a funding gap. After learning about the long journey our community has been through in cobbling together resources and aligning strategy to support our unhoused neighbors, they took a leap of faith. “It is the trust we have in the generations of TTCF leadership that opened our hearts to give in this new direction,” they said.

Today, the Navigation Center has successfully launched with an impressive functional zero-homelessness model that is being recognized by our State Homelessness and Housing Secretary. Bill and Christney represent the kind of generosity and trust that serve as the heartbeat of the TTCF mission.
