Families – Summer 2026

Mountain towns look like paradise from the outside,but the problems caused by geographic isolation, provider shortages, and heavy substance use are real, and it’s easy to feel alone facing them. To address that and help mountain towns learn from one another, the Katz Amsterdam Foundation hosted its seventh annual convening in May. The gathering brings together behavioral health leaders, nonprofit organizers, and community advocates from Western mountain resort communities to share best practices and advance equitable approaches to behavioral health care and substance use.

Our team joined 89 partners from 12 fellow mountain towns across seven states, many of whom we have built relationships with over the past years, proving that sustained partnerships—not solo efforts—are what actually move the needle. Maeve Donavon, TTCF’s Impact Portfolio Director, took the stage to share how CCTT partners connect behavioral health and substance use data with on-the-ground solutions that result in change. The TTCF team and Community Collaborative partners came home with fresh ideas and renewed energy.
