Meeting the Moment: The Next Evolution of our Community Grantmaking
What matters to the community matters to us. Our region’s needs are constantly evolving, and this is true for the nonprofits that serve here. This year, nonprofits across the country are facing rising costs, federal funding cuts, and an increasing need in their communities. To support our neighbors in this moment, Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) is building upon our trust-based, relationship-focused approach to nonprofit support.
For 2025, we eliminated competition in our community grantmaking and delivered $485,000 in unrestricted, mission-driven grants to 60 local nonprofits. This resulted in no requirements for a grant application, a lower administrative burden, and more impact. Our grantmaking evolution was informed by insights from the Institute for the Future’s Foresight Essentials for Philanthropy, years of quantitative and qualitative data, and the insights of our local nonprofits. Collective giving means more impact. Give Back Tahoe, a TTCF program, is an annual year-end giving campaign that raises much-needed dollars for our local nonprofits. It’s easy to discover new causes and donate to your favorites through this online portal. Your gift helps local nonprofits continue the vital work that keeps Tahoe-Truckee strong, connected, and thriving.
