Give Back Tahoe: A Record-Breaking Year
Thank you for supporting the 2025 Give Back Tahoe (GBT) Giving Season! We are celebrating more than $1 million in giving for the first time since the campaign’s inception in 2014. This collective generosity is a response to a year marked by increased demand and funding uncertainty for local nonprofits. Our community stepped in to demonstrate our commitment to one another. Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) used the campaign to identify timely community needs and work with co-funders, fundholders, and nonprofit leadership to align year-end giving. Several major TTCF donors also seeded matching grants, raising a total of more than $330,000 in matching donations.
To prepare nonprofits for a successful season, TTCF’s team provided enhanced educational tools and extended office hours—building on a decade of strategic education and support. GBT is one part of TTCF’s broader system of nonprofit support, including capacity-building, leadership development, and collaborative initiatives designed to create lasting regional impact. We continue to be amazed and grateful for the generosity of our community. Thank you to all who played your part in helping our community. We want to encourage everyone to use Give Back Tahoe all year round to learn more about the amazing nonprofit missions that serve our region and to get involved through the volunteer opportunities!

Community Joins Forces in Support of Local Seniors
The Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund at TTCF has partnered with Sierra Senior Services to brighten the holidays for local older adults for more than a decade. Recently, this has taken the form of providing gift cards so seniors can buy essentials and comforts during a challenging time of year. For our community, it is an opportunity to rally around some of our most vulnerable neighbors. In 2025, as the campaign worked toward a $12,000 goal, a $5,000 gift nearly put us over the finish line. The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, heard about Senior Giving on 101.5 KTKE and felt moved to ensure local seniors felt valued by our community.
Another joyous gift came from the GNO (Girls Night Out) Book Group, which pools funds each holiday season to give collectively to a local nonprofit. Thank you to all of you who donated to this campaign to brighten the holiday season!
Every holiday season, our group chooses a local nonprofit to contribute to that can provide some holiday help or cheer. Since several of our group members were part of the initial Queen of Hearts launch, we have a special connection to this incredible organization. Keep up the great work you provide to our communities!
