Community Engagement and Behavioral Health Data Demonstrates Progress and Room for Improvement
This quarter, the Community Collaborative of Tahoe Truckee (CCTT), a program of TTCF, released the 2024 Community Engagement and Behavioral Health Report in collaboration with its 45 health, education, and social service partner organizations. The report builds upon the 2021 Behavioral Health Roadmap which identifies ten priorities to guide decisions and efforts to improve community health and wellness.
CCTT partners reviewed and validated results in August, noting overall improvements—particularly in fostering stronger community connections, increased access to mental health resources, and reduced substance use. Notably, disaggregated data highlighted the success of our efforts in reducing mental health stigma and providing support to the Hispanic population. This demonstrates the power of our community’s Promonoras—trusted individuals who empower their peers in Spanish-speaking communities.
Areas for improvement remain—particularly in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and addressing pervasive substance abuse. Moving forward, these data points will guide CCTT partner initiatives.
Localized data is critical to identify needs in the Truckee/North Tahoe region that would otherwise be diluted when looking at countywide data. The data and our collaborative partnership help us gain insight into our community’s behaviors, observe trends, and ultimately develop systems and supportive programs to support our unique community.

Community Belonging: Inclusivity and Equity Training for Nonprofit Staff and Board Members
CCTT is excited to host a Community Belonging Training Series and Workshop focused on inclusivity and equity for regional nonprofit staff and Board Members. This series will explore key theories and practices related to community engagement, equity, and belonging in nonprofit organizations. The interactive training will include small group discussions, role plays, and multimedia tools, with guest speakers to help participants apply DEI practices in their own organizations. This series will consist of hybrid trainings and a final workshop. Each two-hour training will feature interactive activities, guest speakers, and real-world scenarios; the in-person, full-day workshop will help participants develop their own customized DEI plan. We encourage our public agency partners, nonprofit staff, and these agencies’ Board Members to attend all sessions. Learn more about the training.
This training is possible thanks to the partnership between TTCF and the Barracuda Championship PGA TOUR Golf Tournament, which reflects a shared commitment to advancing DEI values and fostering a more inclusive community.
