Local Grantees and Funders Committed to Impact

TTCF’s annual Community Grant Cycle aims to set up our region’s nonprofits for success in 2025. Prioritizing unrestricted funding to support trusted organizations where they need it most, this year’s cycle awarded $418,200 to 45 organizations doing good work in eight program areas across North Tahoe – Truckee. These areas include Environment, Conservation, Recreation, Health and Human Services, Community Improvement, Arts and Culture, Education, Youth Development, and Animal Welfare.

Thank you to our funding partners, The Martis Fund and Tahoe Donner Giving Fund. It is their collaborative spirit and deep belief in the missions and efforts of regional nonprofits that help empower organizations to create meaningful change in our community. This process would also not be possible without the expertise and dedication of our volunteer committee members, whose time, effort, and thoughtful care to thoroughly review applications and ensure that funding is distributed with equity and impact is both inspiring and essential to our mission. Thank you for your invaluable contributions!

Celebrating the Changemakers: The Juniper Awards

Honoring the legacy and principles of a beloved community member Jeff Hamilton, the Juniper Awards support outstanding individuals making a positive impact in the community. In its second year, Juniper Awards committee ambassadors and reviewers assessed 70 nominations of individuals in six categories, Art, Writing, Trades, Medical Caregiving, Community Impact, and Winter Olympics.

Selected recipients received a monetary non-taxable award and were brought to the forefront of their community to be acknowledged and celebrated for their commitment, fearlessness, and imagination in their work, trade, or sport. This year, nine deserving community members were selected, often by surprise to them, demonstrating that their work and efforts are seen by those around them. Read about the Jeff Hamilton Legacy Fund in Moonshine Ink.

Jeff believed that honoring individuals would strengthen the community. And in these submissions, I see he was right. Nominees impact exponentially, whether from quiet corners of their lives, or in dynamic efforts to enrich community.
