For the Love of Tahoe Truckee
The Give Back Tahoe Giving Season launched in 2014 to support the nonprofits that make North Tahoe-Truckee such an extraordinary place. It encourages those who live, work, and play here to give back to the place we love by donating to participating nonprofits. Together, we celebrate the spirit of generosity as volunteers, businesses, and donors rally around our local nonprofits.
Did you know that 100% of the nonprofits who participated this year received donations? We also saw donors unlock more than $200,000 in matching grants secured by nonprofits – doubling or even tripling their impact. What blew us away was the 485 hours that people pledged to volunteer over the course of 2025! Thank you for investing your time, talents and treasures to the future of this place.
A Legacy of Heart-Centered Philanthropy
The Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund (QHWF), a program of TTCF, was started in 2006 to encourage 1,000 community-minded women to donate $1,000 each. Since then, more than 1,300 women have contributed to an endowed fund to kick off an annual grant cycle. This year, the fund awarded $60,000 in grants through the GEMS (Grant Educate Motivate and Service) grant cycle to the following nonprofits: Aim High, AMI Housing, Inc., Arts For the Schools DBA Fox Cultural Hall, Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, KidZone Museum, Lake Tahoe Dance Collective Inc., Stephen J. Wampler Foundation, and Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue.
The cherry on top of all this generosity is the partnering with Sierra Senior Services to brighten the holidays for local seniors through gifts and companionship. Continuing this legacy, QHWF donors and community members raised money to provide custom gift cards to seniors in need so they can shop for comforts and necessities from home. Today, we’re celebrating the 195 local seniors whose holidays were made brighter through these efforts.
